Pasta In The Fireplace

Do you miss the cold, brisk nights during these hot days of Summer? You can still have the fun of Fall when you cook dinner in your fireplace. This time we are focusing on a mainstay, pasta!

6. A small controlled fire will be needed for simmering or stewing. Red-hot coals are needed for baking in a Dutch oven. Also use coals for sauteing in a cast-iron skillet by carefully raking out coals from the center of the fire and placing them under a trivet or between two bricks. Place the skillet on the trivet above the raked out coals. Add more wood and kindling to the fire as needed.
